Private pottery lessons made for you
The most focused way to learn. Your own wheel, Amanda's full attention, and a relaxed session paced entirely around you. Most students throw their first pot in the first session.
Your session, step by step
- 01 Welcome & introduction
Amanda walks you through the studio, the wheel, and what the clay likes to do (and what it really doesn't).
- 02 Centring the clay
The fundamental skill. Tricky at first, satisfying very quickly. You'll get it.
- 03 Opening and pulling
The moment a lump of clay starts becoming something. Amanda guides your hands through the whole process.
- 04 Make your pieces
You'll aim for 2–3 pieces across the session. Some will surprise you. Some will collapse. All of it is part of it.
- 05 Glazing choices
Amanda glazes and fires your best pieces and gets in touch when they're ready to collect.
