Commissions

Something made exactly
for you.

Amanda takes a small number of commissions each year. If you have a piece — or a set of pieces — in mind, get in touch. Every commission starts with a conversation.

What Amanda makes

Commission ideas

If you can describe it, there's a good chance it can be made. Here are the types of work Amanda takes on.

🍽️

Tableware Sets

A matched set of plates, bowls, mugs or serving pieces. Perfect for a new home, a wedding gift or simply upgrading a kitchen you love.

Most popular
💒

Wedding Gifts

A one-of-a-kind piece to mark the occasion — a vase, a serving bowl or a personalised set. Made to be used, not stored away.

🏺

Statement Pieces

A vase, a lamp base, a sculptural form. Something made to live on a specific surface in a specific room, with its character shaped by you.

💛

Memorial & Keepsake

A piece made in memory of someone, or to mark a significant milestone. Handled with care and made to last a lifetime.

🏢

Branded or unbranded tableware for restaurants, hotels and event spaces. Previous clients include local Kent hospitality businesses.

Something Else?

Not sure if what you have in mind is possible? Just ask. Amanda is happy to discuss ideas even if they don't fit neatly into a category.

How it works

The commission process

Every commission is different — but the process always starts the same way.

  1. 01

Tell Amanda what you have in mind

Use the contact form or email directly. Describe the piece, its intended use, any size or colour preferences, and your rough timeline.

  2. 02

    A conversation about what's possible

Amanda comes back with honest feedback on feasibility, suggested approaches, and any questions she has before giving a quote.

  3. 03

    Quote and timeline agreed

No fixed pricing online — each piece is quoted individually based on complexity, quantity and lead time. A deposit is taken to begin work.

  4. 04

    Making, firing and finishing

Amanda keeps you updated through the process. Clay shrinks in the kiln, glazes shift slightly — this is part of the beauty of handmade work.

  5. 05

    Collection or delivery

Collect from the studio in Capel-le-Ferne or arrange delivery. Fragile pieces are carefully packed for transit.

Worth knowing

Before you enquire

Amanda takes a limited number of commissions each year

To ensure quality and proper attention, commissions are capped. If Amanda's commission slots are full, she'll let you know the next available window.

Prices aren't listed online

Every piece is different. Pricing is based on the work involved — size, quantity, complexity, and lead time. Quotes are provided before any commitment is made.

Handmade means no two pieces are identical

Slight variations in glaze, texture and form are part of what you're commissioning. If you need absolute uniformity, please discuss this at enquiry stage.

Lead times vary

Typical lead time is 4–12 weeks depending on complexity and current workload. Rush commissions are considered on a case-by-case basis.
